Contracts Manager and Director
To ensure all current contracts comply with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of all staff and visitors
To review and ensure the company is compliant with all Health and Safety policies and procedures and enforcing them on site
Overall to increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the organisation and monitor closely health and safety compliance among sub-contractors
To carry out daily duties including site inductions, collecting all training records, carrying out walks of the site and the updating and recording of all safety paperwork
Carry out weekly toolbox talks with all site personnel
Compiling method statements and risk assessments for new works and reviewing sub–contractor’s method statements for upcoming works
To participate in Site Safety Meetings on each site with site management and client and discussing any upcoming works and potential hazards
To arrange and collate periodic inspections of plant, machinery and tools as per the LOLER & PUWER Regulations
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH is essential
At least 3 years’ experience in delivering Health and Safety in the construction industry
Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organisation
Proficient in MS Office
Self-motivated and with a high level of professionalism
The ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time
Be able to work efficiently in a team as well on their own

The Surveyor/Estimator will be responsible for producing detailed and competitive tenders within the allocated deadline. Other responsibilities include the measurement of tender drawings, reviewing specifications and issuing RFIs. Ideally the estimator will have a proven track record in all estimating functions, in addition to a strong commercial awareness and the ability to deal with tenders from start to finish.
Duties and responsibilites:
Preparation and negotiation of tenders submission;
Measuring and Quantity Take-Off from drawings;
Producing Bills of Quantities;
Sourcing pre-project information;
Visit site and record information about access, drainage and topography, and availability of services such as water and electricity;
Analysing sub-contractor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusions;
Produce Tender report;
Ensure tender is delivered to the appropriate place on time;
Attend pre and post tender interviews, client meetings;
Liaising and reporting to the Quantity Surveying Director, the Estimating Director and Procurement Department in relation to on-going projects submissions;
Attend regular pipeline meetings to review current tender submission requirements and communicate effectively to keep QS Director up-to-date on project submission status whilst also tracking and resolving issues;
Keeps abreast of various changes in industry and competitive environment in which the company operates;
Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations;
Perform Other Duties and Projects as assigned.
Skills and Experience
A degree in Quantity Surveying is a requirement.
Minimum of 3 years experience in the construction industry – Groundworks and RC frame would be beneficial
Good understanding of construction methods, specifications and the ability to read, understand and measure drawings.
Display high capability of extracting quantities from drawings and ensure that accurate pricing is delivered within specified time frames
Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Google Docs, etc.
A strong command of the English languge and good written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
Self-starter and ability to organise the workday around assigned activities and priorities with minimum supervision.
Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
National Insurance number and basic CSCS card is a requirement.
